The third instalment of les playlist, compiled by les girls les boys founder Serena Rees.
Serena founded les girls les boys in 2017. Her bed to street clothing concept celebrates a modern way of dressing, the fluidity of love and friendship, cross cultural mind-sets, and diverse identities. A creative and eternal optimist, Serena is inspired by everything and everyone around her. She combines her passions into everything she does – the people she surrounds herself with, the places she hangs out, the clothes that she wears, what she reads, and the music she listens to.

Tell us about your playlist and your inspiration behind it?
This was almost impossible for me. I mean, to choose only a handful of songs… There are so many I love that inspire and excite me, and make me want to jump up and down. And then there’s others that keep me sane and bring me pure joy. This selection is inspired by girls and boys, or boys and girls, or girlsgirlsgirls, or boysboysboys.
What do you do at les girls les boys?
I’m the founder of les girls les boys. I live and breathe all that is les girls les boys, and right now in lockdown I’m covering a lot of bases and helping my team to get through this time.
Which song from the playlist is your favourite?
I’m going to choose Lola. It’s one of the first records I really got into as a kid. One of the first records I could sing along to, even if I didn’t totally know what was going on in the lyrics…!
What’s your favourite garment, right now, from les girls les boys?
Wow, difficult because it’s all so perfect for right now when I’m working from home, hanging out at home, exercising, and walking my dog in my local park. It’s near impossible to have one favourite, but I do love the terry towelling all-in-one.
What’s your top work-from-home-and-stay-sane tip?
Breathe! And breathe deep!
